Theo F. Gomes

Théo Ferreira Gomes (b. 1993, Niterói) is a researcher dedicated to understanding how financial systems, sonic spaces, and communal forms shape social relations. Moving between sound, curation, and collaborative methodologies, his practice focuses on hybrid spaces where diverse forms of knowledge—spanning the arts, sciences, economics, and informal wisdom—converge.

Attuned to the rhythms of financial markets, he has developed projects such as “Vital Currencies” (2023), a workshop program centered on non-anthropocentric value ecologies; “Moneyfestations” (2025), a sonic spa that deconstructs discourses of financial well-being; and “Bankanga Intertropical” (2026), a collective initiative launched in Rio de Janeiro that envisions financial infrastructures from the perspective of the tropics.

Together with Kosmas Dinh, he initiated “The Sonic and the Void,” a community-based sound practice that investigates layers of silencing and the limits of the audible. His listening dynamics and sonic pedagogies are driven by the question: what social formations can emerge beyond the binary of sound and silence?
