CAPACETE is a center for artistic thought and processes. In addition to a multipurpose space for exhibitions and public talks, we offer accommodations for artists in residence. Each year, we host an average of twenty residents, including artists, curators, writers, filmmakers, journalists, and cultural agents from Brazil and abroad. Over a period of up to three months, participants have the opportunity to discuss, reflect, and question contemporary ethical and aesthetic practices, promoting encounters that articulate theoretical knowledge with the experiences, memories, and affections of each participant. In the end, concrete strategies may emerge in the face of the shifting art system.
If you are interested in our program and have not been contacted before by our artistical direction, you may apply by sending us your portfolio with a letter of interest. Unfortunately we are not able to fund any resident through this application process and in case you are selected we will try to help you find the necessary fundings. Funding requierements may vary depending from which region of the world you are and we will talk about these issues once you are selected.

Four practical axes unfold within the program:
- Immersion: closed meetings with individual and group tutorials;
- Visits to exhibitions, collections, and artists’ studios;
- Sharing moments: public talks with guest speakers;
- Self-management: planning and holding events with the group’s experiments.
