Marina Dubia acts—rehearsing, operating, and forging a path—through the spoken word and her own presence to excavate our implications within the realm of the physical: what the world makes of us, and what we make of what the world makes of us. Operating at the limits of close-contact encounters and overflowing energy, she orchestrates choreographic actions where violence flows alongside care and joy, inviting the audience to engage and reposition themselves. Marina studied at Carla Zaccagnini’s School of Conceptual and Contextual Practices at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and participated in the PACAP 4 program at Fórum Dança in Lisbon. In 2023, she was an artist-in-residence with the Fonte and Pivô Pesquisa programs in São Paulo and collaborated with O-Overgaden in Copenhagen on the project Desabar To Collapse. Since then, her research has been guided by the question: “What would you like to destroy?” In 2024, she began her studies in choreography at the exerce master’s program in Montpellier and is currently an artist-in-residence at CAPACETE in Rio de Janeiro.
