A resident of Acari, a favela in Rio de Janeiro’s North Zone, Agatha Maria is a visual artist, educator, and artist-researcher. She holds a degree in Visual Arts Education from UFRJ and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the Arts Graduate Program (PPGArtes) at UERJ. Her artistic practice navigates the intersection of body, territory, and memory, aiming to create and investigate methodologies and fabulations rooted in memories, daily life, and the oral traditions learned from her elders.
