Rodrigo Araya Yáñez (Chile) works at the intersection of visual arts, sound art, and performance, creating presentations designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces. His temporary, site-specific works often utilize ordinary household objects, transforming their everyday familiarity into unexpected spectacles that transcend their symbolic and utilitarian values. As an active cultural agent in Chile, he collaborates on “Otra sinceridad” (Another Sincerity)—a publishing platform shared with designer Gracia Fernandez—to create events, festivals, exhibitions, publications, and other forms of knowledge production.
Active in Chile and abroad, his work has been featured in various intermedial art circuits, experimental gatherings and festivals, exhibitions, publishing projects, and record labels, among other creative and knowledge-generating platforms. Selected examples include: “Chintete em OAX,” MACCO Museum of Contemporary Art, Oaxaca, Mexico (Performance, 2025); “Por baixo de tudo há sujeira,” Bella, Zurich, Switzerland (Installation, 2022); “Computadores e Servidores,” Mercadoria Sagrada, Santiago, Chile (Installation, 2021); “Unique Sound,” La Curtiembre Gallery, Santiago, Chile (Performance, 2020); and “TEA No. 3,” Die Ecke Gallery, Santiago, Chile (Performance/Reading, 2019).
