Ayesha Ghaoul

Ayesha Ghaoul is a visual artist born in London, UK, in 1994, currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Drawing lies at the heart of her practice. She undertands drawing as a mapping tool—at times a video camera, a memory recorder, or even a time machine. It constantly shifts form. Through her work, she explores the possibility of altering the past, seeking revenge, and envisioning brighter futures.

She works primarily on a project basis, allowing each project to define its own techniques and modes of knowledge production. She enjoys learning new crafts and often uses time as a material. She is also interested in therapeutic approaches to art. She believes in artistic creation as a necessity and an urgent act, rather than as a commodity.
